About the company

CarbonCloud is a SaaS startup founded in Gothenburg Sweden in 2019 by a team of scientists on a mission to improve the climate impact of food. The company develops software that helps calculate and communicate the carbon footprint of your food products, map out your supply chain, and spot where and how to reduce your emissions together with your suppliers – from farm to shelf. The company ultimately provides the infrastructure and network packed with global data and intelligence to make the best procurement choices, get the most granular calculations, and even help consumers make climate-conscious choices. A real competitive advantage that, as of today, has only been a game of the few. The client base already includes several great brands and large international companies such as Oatly, Unilever, and Menigo among others and more are to come as the company expands into a global arena. 

About the Role

The role as Director of Sales is a key position within the management team, assuming overall accountability for the sales function at CarbonCloud. This involves building relationships with new clients and nurturing existing ones, always with a commitment to achieving objectives and setting ambitious sales targets. In this capacity, you will be instrumental in shaping all sales structures, overseeing sales processes, and ensuring customer success. Additionally, you will play a vital role in aligning and advancing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ultimately steering the team towards realizing the targeted growth by securing new partnerships and fostering expansion with current clients.

Collaborating with other teams and the management, you will formulate and execute comprehensive commercial strategies. This includes go-to-market plans and strategies for customer retention. Your contribution will extend to supporting the management team in prioritizing projects, whether they involve geographic expansion, introducing new features, integrating systems, or enhancing data collection processes. The location of the role is Gothenburg, Sweden, or London, UK.

Key Responsibilities on an overall level

  • Build the overall sales motion and hold sales accountable to routines and the operational framework; constantly improve sales collateral and ways of selling to customers.
  • Strategy planning: Determine and own the European enterprise sales strategy to build and grow CarbonCloud’s presence and to achieve business targets.
  • Play a critical role in business planning, working closely with other senior executives to develop plans, and resource requirements, and influence our long-term business strategy.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales leaders, marketing, and product teams to develop go-to-market strategies and execution.
  • Lead ongoing analysis of business performance to support daily operations and quarterly business reviews.
  • Define and implement sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when required.
  • Put in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function.
  • Team Management, leverage our current sales team while also structuring, expanding, and growing the team as part of our sales segmentation strategy.
  • Deliver, with the team, on sales goals as well as onboarding and developing the team.
  • Manage senior-level customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities when needed.

Skills, Experience, and Requirements

  • Experience leveraging, building, and managing enterprise sales teams with a proven record of recruiting and enabling top talent.
  • Value-based sales approach willing to “roll up the sleeves’ and sell and help teams close deals when needed.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance objectives
  • Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations.
  • Adaptable, professional, courteous, motivated, and work well on their own or as a member of a team.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Demonstrated progressive enterprise sales leadership and operations experience within the Saas Scale-up market.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems and marketing automation systems such as Hubspot, market, outreach, etc.
  • Significant experience in general management and P&L supervision
  • Experience from working in an international environment.
